Katie Franke is a professional trombonist and music educator based in the Washington, D.C. area. Committed to excellence and leadership in her field, she seeks to inspire and empower the next generation of female brass musicians.

In 2023, Katie became the first woman to join the low brass section of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. In 2024, she was appointed the Adjunct Applied Trombone Professor at the George Mason University Dewberry School of Music.
