Katie Franke is a professional trombonist and educator working passionately to become a leader in her field and to set an example for the next generation of female brass players.

In 2023, Katie became the first woman to join the low brass section of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. In 2024, she was appointed the Adjunct Applied Trombone Professor at the George Mason University Dewberry School of Music.
